People tend to seek therapy when it feels like something in their life isn’t working. You may be feeling overwhelmed and want life to feel less hard, or hoping to find more purpose and joy in your life. Being human can be difficult, and we can pick up a lot of shame and self-judgment along the way. Sometimes we weren’t taught the tools we need to move forward in the way we want, and even though we do our best to cope it can still feel overwhelming. It’s easy to think we can, or should, push through on our own. Even though it may feel vulnerable, talking with a counselor can offer the support that helps you to make your own meaning from your experiences, and make changes in a way that allows you to feel more secure. I’m glad you’re here, I believe you deserve the life you dream for yourself, and I would be honored to support you in creating it.
I work with adults of all ages who are motivated to understand themselves more deeply, and want to re-connect their heart and mind. We may be a good fit if you are struggling with self-acceptance, identity exploration, life transitions, grief or loss, developmental/ chronic/ shock trauma, patterns of unhealthy relationship, burnout or chronic stress, or chronic illness.
My approach is experiential, trauma-informed, and holistic, meaning we will address the whole of you. We will work together to help you find self-understanding and create new ways to move through challenges as they arise, with greater self-acceptance. I believe we are all capable of building internal resources to overcome obstacles, move through difficult experiences, and unlock our fullest potential. My goal is to provide a nonjudgmental and respectful space for you to share openly, while also facilitating experiences that help you uncover your own path to the life you want. I use traditional talk therapy as well as body-based approaches to healing. Talk therapy helps many people generate insight about difficult experiences; however, for some people words alone aren’t enough to fully express or understand their experiences and challenges, and talking about it can lead to feeling more stuck. By tapping into your body’s innate intelligence, somatic therapies can help you shift from a state of distress and overwhelm to a place of greater ease.
Outside of counseling, I am a nature enthusiast and a homebody. I love gardening, mountain biking, and hiking with my dogs Luna and Loki. I get excited about new recipes, baking, and love to share food with my friends and family.
Please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consultation if you feel like working together would be a good fit for you.
