I understand how difficult it is to find a therapist who really gets you. I find that people often seek therapy when they recognize their coping skills, habits, and patterns are no longer working well for them. Whether it’s a relationship pattern, negative self-talk, or a belief system that no longer serves you, I feel it’s my job to help you evaluate the systems in your life and figure out what easy shifts can happen to make them work better for you. I want to be your advocate and unconditional support to help you grow and make the changes that you want to make. You have the innate ability to heal yourself, and I’m just here to help empower and facilitate… and call you on your bullshit when you need it.
I love working with adults who:
Have experienced trauma or neglect from their emotionally immature caregiver
Are attempting to break the cycle of generational trauma
Would be considered the “black sheep” of the family
Have been harmed by Christianity/purity culture
Work in a helping profession
Have realized they don’t have the energy to mask any longer
The frameworks that I tend to gravitate towards in session are intersectionality, attachment, and Feminist theories. I consider myself somewhat of a psychodynamic therapist because I love to help clients figure out why they are the way they are, and I believe the majority of that stems from childhood. The therapeutic modalities I pull most from are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also have extensive training in gender-affirming care and enjoy working with trans and nonbinary folx who need transition support. As a social worker, social justice is deeply important to me, and I consider myself a staunch advocate for marginalized groups. Additionally, I’m committed to doing my own antiracist work and learning from BIPOC people in a personal and professional capacity.
I’m LGBTQIA+ and Nonbinary celebratory, Poly and ENM affirming & Kink positive.
